Parishioners donate non-perishable food items which are given to the Community Services Clearinghouse. These items can be things like fruit cups, granola bars, juice boxes, pudding cups, etc. These snacks are put in backpacks and sent home on Fridays with school aged children to be sure that they have something to eat through the weekend time. Donations may be put in the wagon located in the Information Center. |
Cards for Others: Cards For Others is a ministry of St. John's that provides cards for persons in nursing homes in Western Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma. These cards are donated to the ministry and distributed by Project Compassion to each and every nursing home in this area. This ministry also provides stamps to the persons receiving these donated cards.
This ministry distributes cards of all and every occasion, such as Birthday, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Graduation, Confirmation, Baptism, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Anniversary, Thank You, Thinking Of You, and even Blank card.

Discretionary Funds: Many crisis, emergencies and opportunities for charity come to the attention of the Rector. The Discretionary Fund is a means for the church to respond to such needs. Anyone may contribute by making a check payable to St. John's designated for the Discretionary Fund.
Episcopal Church Women: Women of all ages in the parish come together to strengthen their spiritual lives through meeting, working together, eating, and socializing with one another. Anyone is welcome. The daytime group meets quarterly on the list Tuesdays in February, May, August, and November at 1:00 p.m. The nighttime group meets on the 1st Thursday of the above mentioned months at 6:30 p.m.
United Thank Offering: UTO is the outreach arm of the women of the Episcopal Church throughout the world. Members of St. John's use a UTO collection box as a place for offerings and prayers given at any time of thanksgiving. That money is then sent to the diocese which in turn sends it to the National Church to be combined with money from dioceses from all over the country. It is then held until the General Conference and given out as grants worldwide to groups who need help.
- Women's Institute: A weekend retreat available to women held at Camp Mitchell on the first weekend in June of each year. It starts with a Quiet Day and continues with speakers, workshops, fellowship and fun.
Church Periodical Club: Is a ministry of the printed word. CPC distributes Bibles, Prayer Books and other religious materials to missions and institutions that could not otherwise afford them. CPC Sunday is the first Sunday in May.
- Miles of Pennies: MOP - is part of the CPC program and is a fund that provides grants to give school-aged children books, magazines, tapes, videos, and computer programs.
Episcopal Relief and Development: The ERD is the Episcopal Church's primary ministry of outreach and emergency care throughout the world. The ERD responds in time of warfare and natural disaster.
Kairos: Prison Ministry where volunteers visit, pray, and may take store bought cookies to the prisoners.
